“God is our refuge and strength …” so starts Psalm 46, the theme of our autumn magazine issue and women’s retreat in November.
“Though the earth give way,” our hope remains because we do not put our faith in leaders of nations, our closest friends and family or even in ourselves.
We hope because, “The Lord Almighty is with us.”
We chose “Refuge + Strength” as the theme to point to the One who is our fortress, who is mightier than anything this world or the devil can throw at us. As you read the testimonies and personal accounts in these pages, we pray that you are strengthened in your faith and your resolve to go and live out your purpose in Christ.
Time is fleeting. Before we know it one season fades into another. A quarterly publication allows women to read our content in a slower paced atmosphere. We are committed to solid content inspired by God’s Word that will be valuable of your time.

MY HIDING PLACE by Mel Kreuser || The book of Psalms, written almost entirely by King David, is perhaps one of the most all-encompassing books of the Bible when it comes to our journey through human emotions and earthly circumstances. David gives us a beautiful example of what real conversation and relationship with our heavenly Father looks like as he openly laments his hardships in light of remembering God’s faithfulness. Throughout this book, the word “refuge” (or a translation of that word) is used over 40 times, driving home the point that the answers and comfort to all of our earthly struggles can and should be found in our heavenly Father alone.
In this study, we’ll be looking at six different common struggles we face while studying one particular Psalm for each. We will be asking ourselves what this particular Psalm teaches us about God, the world and ourselves. It is my prayer that after journeying through this study, you have the confidence to do the same with each of the other 144 chapters of this beautiful book of the Bible!

Dana grew up in Texas, Nebraska, and Wisconsin — her dad is a retired pastor and her mom a retired parochial school teacher. She met her husband Ryan at Martin Luther College and his ministry took them to Southern California and Miami for 17 years. They have two kids (10th and 7th grade) and moved to Appleton, Wisconsin last year.
After serving as a teacher, freelance writer/marketer, and vice president of growth, Dana now owns her own strategic growth consulting firm where she helps ministries and nonprofits reach their communities and grow.
