It’s a Meaningful Life | ECCLESIASTES BIBLE STUDY by Amanda Rose

Another year has come and gone! I'm exchanging one busy calendar for another. What is all the hustle for?

I feel restless until I am walking with God. Keeping the end in mind, let's talk with one of the wisest men who ever lived, and learn what makes everything meaningful.

Does poverty or riches, pleasure or toil, successes or failures give a person meaning and a life value?

Ecclesiastes is a man teaching from experience, and the lesson is clear: life apart from God has no lasting value, and no ultimate meaning.

Join us for 6 weeks this New Year as we look to God’s Word for direction and see how Ecclesiastes connects to Christ.

Nathan Clarkson is an actor, best-selling author, filmmaker, and poet who has a passion for telling stories that make a difference. Nathan has appeared in many  popular TV shows and films and has recently released his first book, Different, a memoir written with his mother. While growing up, Nathan was constantly described as "out of the box." But even though he was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and other learning disabilities, Nathan was able to take what many saw as "disorders" and turn them into "superpowers." Nathan is an imperfect but dedicated follower of Christ who is passionate about revealing truth, beauty, love and purpose through the art of storytelling.

Imagine having a seat at the Clarksons' home in Colorado with a cup of hot tea in hand. Darcy, their golden retriever, is nearby looking to be pet or sit on someone's lap. She doesn't quite know her own size as she is still like a puppy! You scan the room and notice your name written on a decorative chalkboard with a welcome message. They really care that you are here and want you to know it. The Clarksons inspire others around the world with their love of good books, creativity, and engaging discussions. They have a knack for drawing others closer to Jesus and their first picture book is no exception. We had the chance to ask both Nathan and Sally some questions about "ONLY YOU CAN BE YOU!"

Only You Can Be You is inspired by Different - A previous book you wrote together. tell us more about it!

“The book Different came out of a desire to share my experience of being the “different” kid to help other kids know they weren’t alone. I grew up with pretty severe mental illness, learning disabilities, and just an out-of-the-box personality that often made me feel like I was either too much, or not enough. And as a young kid who was finding his place in the world it could make me feel so alone. And as I look back, I realize how lucky I was to have a loving mom who walked through that with me, not expecting me to be something I wasn't, not comparing me or asking me to fit a mould the world said I had to fit. But instead, she revelled in and celebrated my differences, believing that God would use them all in the story that I would tell. (He did and still does.) I wanted to write our story to encourage kids to know their differences are beautiful and God will use them, not in spite of their differences but because of them.” - Nathan Clarkson
