"FLOCK" Holy Hen House Fall Retreat 2022

“God is our refuge and strength …” so starts Psalm 46, the Psalm that has inspired our upcoming Flock Retreat.

Join us November 4-6 at the Conference Point Center in Williams Bay, WI as we enjoy fellowship together and remind ourselves of the reason that we do not fear this world or its hardships.

“Though the earth give way,” our hope remains because we do not put our faith in leaders of nations, our closest friends and family or even in ourselves.

We hope because, “The Lord Almighty is with us.”

FLOCK is a weekend designed to be a time of renewal in nature and God's Word with other women. Come rest in the grace and forgiveness found in Jesus. The life-changing gospel will be found in the retreat's teaching, live worship, and conversations (or silences) in between.

FEATURED MUSICIAN

Amanda Rose is a Christian singer-songwriter. She creates music that is elegant, meditative, and full of soul. Inspired by the word of God, Amanda's songs take listeners on a vulnerable journey from inner struggle to hope found in Jesus. Cultivating a genre-blending mix of Indie folk and blues, Amanda's music explores themes of love, forgiveness, transformation, and freedom.

Her pure vocal sound, high range, and delicate way of singing brings a fresh take on music that is nothing short of captivating. She uses her voice like an instrument to create an etherial mood, sometimes haunting, sometimes joyful, and always engaging.

No stranger to both conventional songwriting and classical training, Amanda has her BA in Vocal Performance from Bethany Lutheran College and her Master's in Music Composition/Technology from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.

In addition to other songs, she will be debuting an original at FLOCK based on Martin Luther's poem, God is Our Refuge in Distress.

The absolutely gorgeous Conference Point Center is located in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. Situated directly on the coast of Geneva Lake, the Center is surrounded by beautifully mature trees, walking paths and restored historic facilities.

Retreat attendees will be calling the hotel-styled Soderquist Lodge home for the weekend, with all events taking place in the common meeting space right in the lodge itself. Individual rooms in the lodge can comfortably fit 2-4 women. Check out a virtual tour HERE!

FAQS

  • Tickets are limited and available to purchase until August 31 or when max capacity is met. We suggest that you make plans with friends quickly as our past retreats sold quickly. If tickets get close to selling out we will alert on social media and email.

  • When you purchase your ticket, type the names of your friends that you want to lodge with to best ensure that you will be together. With few tickets being available please make sure that you purchase the tickets promptly in case they sell out. Rooms can fit four women comfortably in two queen beds. Please let us know in the ticket form if you are willing to share a queen bed.

  • We have one double occupancy room that can be purchased for an individual if needed. It is available for $325 as space is limited and the other bed will not be able to be purchased. Please contact us at finance@holyhenhouse.com and we will try our best to accommodate you.

  • No. We try to cover all of the bases when it comes to Christian women: in their 20s, single, married without children, mothers of littles, empty-nesters, etc. We are confident women in all places of life will find enjoyment in the retreat!

  • No, We will certainly pray and sing together throughout the retreat but there will not be a church service at the retreat. If you would like to attend a church service look at local opportunities on Sunday morning. Personal devotions with Bible study will also included in the event booklet.

  • Yes! All meals will be provided by the Conference Center but women are still welcome to bring snacks or preferred drinks along. Please note that the rooms do not have refrigerators and alcohol is not permitted.

  • Unfortunately, no. We understand all too well the need for moms to have a retreat away. However, for the sake of the other women who are hoping to enjoy a full night’s sleep or less distraction we ask that you wait to attend another year. We truly do love babies! Thank you for understanding!

  • The retreat is definitely casual. Bring warm, comfy clothes. We also recommend that you bring along a winter jacket, hat, and gloves as Wisconsin autumns can get chilly and you may enjoy a walk in the fresh air.

  • There are no refunds allowed with this type of event. We will allow you to swap the ticket with another person but you are responsible for finding them and notifying us of the change. Thank you for understanding!
