FLOCK Holy Hen House Retreat 2018

  • Green Lake Conference Center (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

THE HEN HOUSES ARE FULL! All tickets are sold out. Last year we were surprised that over 100 women attended our first retreat. We really enjoyed our time but after much thought and prayer we have decided to intentionally cut the event's attendance in half, only allowing 50 women attend. This will keep the event more intimate and less conference-like.

Lessons from Katie Luther for the Modern Woman - Speaking Event

Lessons from Katie Luther for the Modern Woman - Speaking Event

Join Amanda Rose of Holy Hen House and the women of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac, WI as they explore a summary of Katie Luther's life and study where she found hope and certainty in her many roles as a woman.

There's no question that the wife of the renowned Lutheran reformer, Martin Luther, was a unique and inspiring woman.

Her dying words were, ""I shall cling to Christ as a burr clings to a coat."

Like Katie Luther, we can have full faith that Jesus' grace is the one thing secure in this life to cling to.

“I cling to you; your right hand upholds me.” — Psalm 63:8

This event is free and open to the public. We would love to see you!

She will lead women directly to the source of God's Word for direction and comfort.

How do we continue to produce fruit in every season?

What are the challenges and blessings of different stages of life?

What do all the seasons of life have in common?

Also, Amanda will close with a prayer meditation on the piano for women to be still and filled in Christ as we return back to our homes and communities.

Come and see by registering here

*Coffee, tea, and delicious breakfast sides will be served.

That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.

Holy Hen House Symposium @ St. Paul's

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
— Colossians 3:17

Join the chatter! St. Paul's Lutheran Church in St. James Minnesota is gathering women of all stages together for their 13th Ladies' Symposium.

The theme of the symposium is "Chatter that Matters" which is based off of Holy Hen House blog's mission and tagline.

"Ladies of Legacy: Why Your Chatter Matters" by Amber Albee Swenson // In this session we will be looking at women of the Bible to see how they used their mouths to glorify God or to get into trouble. As a woman who has lots of experience taking my foot out of my mouth, I'll lead the search through scripture to find practical ways to make sure what leaves our mouth is a blessing, and not a curse.

"Chatter that Mentors and Matters to a Mentee" by Mary Abel // Mentoring is mentioned often in the Bible and Titus has some directives about how women are to mentor other women. In this study we will go into the three verses that house a treasure trove of guidelines for women. Leave with new insights on getting started and moving forward to bless others with your special kind of love and caring!

"Chatter that Matters in a Noisy Social Media World" by Amanda Rose // Alert! Beep! Notification! Social media is used to share updates, ideas, and opinions but are we using our chatter online to glorify Jesus? Holy Hen House, an online ministry, is made up of imperfect women spurred on by God's perfect grace to share chatter that matters in a noisy world. Let's discuss ways we can use our influence online to reach into homes with the gospel!

Come hear Amanda Rose's original songs, arrangements of favorite hymns, and the stories that inspired them. Her unique blend of soul, choral, and folk music strikes a chord and her lyrics point to her Savior whose story is the basis of it all.

The Symposium includes morning coffee with baked goods, a luncheon, and desserts. Before noon women will travel to St. James' Legion (620 1st Ave S) for a catered lunch and the remaining topics.

The Holy Hen House pop up shop will be featured along with a Martin Luther College book sale.

Cost is $25 and is due by November 7th! Look for the registration pdf to print off and mail in the comments.
