The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. Isaiah 9:2

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month and I remember being surprised at first how many women close to me would lose a child after a few short weeks or months. This scattered photo, from the moment I saw it in-camera— a blurry, gray scene of birds startled out of pines by our car— looked like grief over loss to me. Confusing, lonely, unsettling. Your plans and thoughts day-to-day have been forever changed yet the world keeps rushing by. The love between mamas and babies starts early and man is it strong! It doesn’t just end when a life does. If you have been asked to walk this road of loss, if you cry on a would-be birthday or a random sunny Wednesday, or lose sleep over if you’ve cried ‘enough’, remember God sees you, Mama. He binds up the brokenhearted. He has all of our babies in His hands. Praying you’re surrounded by friends who if you choose to share it, celebrate the life of your baby, however short, and nudge you closer to Jesus. Praying His love gives you strength and fills the empty spaces.
