WELCOME! We are so
glad you are here!

Most women don’t have supportive Christian women in their lives mentoring them.

We spur women on with the Word of God so that we can approach the Bible with confidence, share Jesus with grace, and speak chatter that matters in a noisy world.

“Let us consider how we may spur one another on…” Hebrews 10:24

SPUR ON Conference 2019 // Recap + Review

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may SPUR one another ON toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
— Hebrews 10:23-25

Well, ladies, the day came and went. And it was WONDERFUL.

As many of you already know, we held our first ever one day conference this past weekend at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in Jackson, Wisconsin. Over 150 women, ages 10 and up, joined us for Spur On, an event created to encourage women of all ages to keep on keeping on in their faith walk and their mission for spreading the love of Jesus. Out of these 150+ women, 32 were “students” (college-aged or younger) — it was so incredible to see them digging into the Word alongside their mothers, grandmothers and/or mentors!

The day got started with a husband and wife musician pair, a prayer based on our Hebrews 10 passages and a main session given by Sam Schroth, a 27-year old paraplegic and medical student. The women then attended their choice of three breakout sessions, heard from our charity partner for the event (Soles for Jesus), listened to more music and enjoyed a lunch catered in by Out and Out of Cedarburg. During lunch, the attendees browsed 16 vendor and sponsor tables, ranging from handmade jewelry to unique art to youth ministries. Rebecca Wendland and her two daughters followed lunch for our second main session during which they told of their time spent in Africa and also got the women up out of their seats for a “building” each other up activitiy. After a second breakout session, giveaways were announced (some amazing stuff was won!) and the women were then given the opportunity to ask the speakers questions in an open forum. The day concluded with a mother-daughter duet and a hymn sung in unison — an uplifting end to a very uplifting day.

And of course, what would a Holy Hen House event be without a “photobooth”? Lots of ladies took advantage of the photo op with their friends and family and made great use of the props :)

Thank you for the hard work you put into this conference! These events, meeting together and worshiping and growing in faith with other women, are always soul-soothing for me!

I think you did a wonderful job to make this conference relevant to women of all ages. Although I have really enjoyed your Out of the Nest events at Grace, I felt like those events were for younger women (I’m 59). I brought my 80 year old mom to this conference and we had the BEST time! We couldn’t stop talking about it on the drive home:) It was a very uplifting and inspirational day! Thank you so much!!!

To see so many of you come and join us for a never-attempted-before dream of a new, one day conference for ladies of all generations lit a fire in our hearts and put a smile on our lips.

YOU spur US on. THANK YOU.

We so appreciate your support and your feedback — we read each post-event survey and take your words to heart and we continue to pray that God may lead us in the ways HE has planned to serve you.

To God be all the glory!

With much love through HIM,
Amanda, Becky and Mel
