lay it down

flowers hhh

Earlier this morning I drove our mini van across town to an appointment, fretting about this and worrying about that.

And then this song by Matt Maher came on the radio.

God's timing is never a coincidence.

I sang along at the top of my lungs and the tears came. The thankful kind. My overwhelmed heart was filled straight up with His peace.

Lord, I come, I confess Bowing here I find my rest Without You I fall apart You’re the One that guides my heart

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You Every hour I need You My one defense, my righteousness Oh God, how I need You

Where sin runs deep Your grace is more Where grace is found is where You are And where You are, Lord, I am free Holiness is Christ in me

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You Every hour I need You My one defense, my righteousness Oh God, how I need You

Teach my song to rise to You When temptation comes my way And when I cannot stand I’ll fall on You Jesus, You’re my hope and stay

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You Every hour I need You My one defense, my righteousness Oh God, how I need You

You’re my one defense, my righteousness Oh God, how I need You My one defense, my righteousness Oh God, how I need You

What a privilege and comfort to be able to lay it downAll of it at the feet of Jesus!

Every worry, every hurt, every failure. Every minute, every hour, every day.

So thankful that He is always here, even when I choose to try to carry the heavy load of life on my own. Oh, how I need Him.

Dear ones, Jesus is inviting us and commanding us to cast our cares on Him, to come to Him when we are tired and burdened. Let's listen to Him, taking up His light yoke instead of our heavy one. We cannot do this without Him.

He will carry us.
